Since 1997, Doug Steele, President and Founder of College Consulting 101, has been directly involved in admissions and school counseling in a variety of primary, secondary and college settings. These have included public, private, day, and coed settings. Educated at Sacred Heart University, he holds a Bachelor's in Business Administration with a triple concentration in Marketing, Advertising, and Management. As a four year Captain, four year defensive MVP, and three time All-American lacrosse player, Doug’s strong background and experience encompasses the full spectrum of the college admissions process.
Mr. Steele also brings the firsthand perspective to today’s admission landscape from his experience at Sacred Heart University’s Undergraduate Admissions Office, where he held the position of Director of Admissions and Athletic Recruitment Coordinator. Reviewing and rating all aspects of applications for the Admissions Committee enabled him to gain a refined sense of what makes a student stand out amidst an increasingly more competitive applicant pool.
