Doug Steele
Since 1997, Doug Steele, President and Founder of College Consulting 101, has been directly involved in college admissions and school counseling in a variety of primary, secondary and University settings. These have included public, private, day, and coed settings. Educated at Sacred Heart University, he holds a Bachelor's of Science in Business Administration with a triple concentration in Marketing, Advertising, and Management. As a four year Captain, four year defensive MVP, and three time NCAA Lacrosse All-American, Doug’s strong background and experience encompass the full spectrum of the college admissions process.
Mr. Steele also brings a firsthand perspective to today’s admission landscape from his many years of experience in the Sacred Heart University Undergraduate Admissions Office, where he held the position of Director of Admissions and Athletic Recruitment liaison for 30 Division I Athletic Programs. His unique ability to review and evaluate all aspects of a student’s application and identify qualities that makes a student stand out amidst an increasingly more competitive applicant pool, provides his clients with a distinct edge in the admissions process.
